Most of the
modifications have been conducted by the club's enthusiast engineers. We were
able to get a few spare parts from one local vendor, but as Alfa parts are no
longer officially imported into Indonesia, parts have to be imported from
England, the United States, Australia, and Singapore. Since the club has been
established we have been able to exchange information to get parts from all
over the world.
Unfortunately,
Indonesia no longer has an Alfa Romeo Official Dealer, howefer there are a
few 'modern' Alfa 156 cars in Jakarta which we welcome into the club. The
members of Alfa Romeo Owners' Club of Indonesia are very keen to preserve all
of these fantastic cars for future members and to introduce to those
interested the pleasures of Alfa Romeo ownership. |

We are a small
but enthusiastic club and we relish driving our Alfas in this beautiful
archipelago. Alfas were first officially imported into Indonesia in the early
70's and were mostly Alfa Romeo GTV 1600, 1750 and 200s. Giulia 1300 and
1600 saloons were also assembled in Indonesia as were dozens of Alfetta 1750
4 doors. Only a handfull of Alfa Romeo Spiders were ever imported. Of a total
of few hundred Alfas, we estimate that around 30 to 40 still exist.
Since the weather
in Indonesia is mostly very hot and humid, modification of the engine to
suite the conditions is necessary. Air conditioning is a desirable addition
and most of the cars run with modified cooling system. |
